Preventative Dentistry

Prevention begins at home with good brushing and flossing. We address this at our check-ups. X-rays are sometimes needed to look beneath the surface.

We use Fluoride to make the teeth more resistant to acid attack.
Fissure sealants prevent plaque accumulation in the crevices of teeth.

Paedodontics

(Dental care for Kids)

We aim to help a child get through their early dental life as smoothly and painlessly as possible. Fillings for children often don't require injections. Some baby teeth we do our best to save as they are needed to keep space for the erupting adult teeth underneath.
The use of stainless steel crowns has been shown to be most effective:

Restorative Dentistry (Fillings)

If you have any cavities or holes in your teeth, we remove the decay before rebuilding it with matching tooth-coloured fillings. On occasions, we may use silver fillings but this is quite rare.

Tooth Whitening

We can brighten your teeth for you. We do this by using take-home kits and individually-fitted mouth trays for the least sensitive experience possible.

Endodontics

(Root Canal Treatments)

Most likely you'll be in a lot of pain. We'll need you to come in a few times to fix this up. The first session will be to clean and remove the damaged nerve in your tooth which is causing you pain. Then we'll make sure the root is all clean and sterile before we seal it up with some inert material.

Prosthodontics

(Crowns, Bridges and Dentures)

A crown may be used to protect the tooth breaking apart, eg. after a root canal. Crowns can also be used to improve your tooth’s appearance.
Missing teeth are replaced with either dentures -  (false teeth which are removable) or bridges - false teeth attached to crowns which are cemented to adjacent teeth and are not removable.
As you can see bridges can be quite destructive of tooth material. There are different types of bridges which can be more conservative. We’ll let you know which is most suitable.

Periodontics (Gum Treatment)

Often pain in the mouth can come from the gums, and not the actual tooth itself. We can also help with identifying and treating any gum pain or gum disease you may have.

Braces

Orthodontics (eg. Braces, Invisalign)

If it's not too complicated, we can create basic plates and use braces to align your teeth to create a beautiful even smile. If needed, we provide a free assessment consisting of model taking, photos and x-rays to see if you are suitable for treatment.

Oral Surgery

We can remove most teeth, including wisdom teeth, in the chair under local anaesthetic (injections). We offer basic implant placements which may replace teeth or help you retain dentures.
On occasions, we can offer you Penthrox to help you cope with the procedure.

Snoring/Sleep Apnoea

Snoring  deprives oxygen to the brain and can lead to significant health risks. A sleep study is usually recommended and with the recommendation of the sleep medicine specialist, an anti-snoring device can be fitted, please see: www.somnomed.com.au

Pinhole Gum Surgery

We can also correct recession of the gums under certain situations using the Chao Pinhole Technique. It is less traumatic than traditional methods and just as effective.
